Netflix announces ‘East of Eden’ miniseries starring Florence Pugh

Netflix is producing a new seven-part miniseries based on John Steinbeck’s 1952 classic novel, ‘East of Eden’. Set in California, the drama explores multiple generations of the Trask family, focusing on themes of love, jealousy, betrayal, and the struggle between good and evil.

The series features a prominent cast, led by Florence Pugh as the mysterious and manipulative anti-hero Cathy Ames. She is joined by Christopher Abbott and Mike Faist, who portray the brothers Adam and Charles Trask. The narrative also follows the next generation, including the characters Cal and Aron Trask.

Written by Zoe Kazan, the project holds personal significance as her grandfather, Elia Kazan, directed the famous 1955 film adaptation. The production also includes actors such as Tracy Letts, Martha Plimpton, Ciarán Hinds, and Hoon Lee.
