Netflix announces ‘Fujiyama BOY’ series starring Wataru Ichinose and Suzu Hirose

Netflix has announced the world exclusive release of its new original series, ‘Fujiyama BOY’, scheduled for January 2027. The production features Wataru Ichinose in the lead role and Suzu Hirose as the heroine.

The story follows Kanta Kakuhata (played by Ichinose), a man who has been a shut-in for eight years with no romantic experience. After his terminally ill mother expresses a dream about him marrying Japan’s top idol, Mami Hamamiya (played by Hirose), Kanta declares his intention to marry her. The series is described as a blend of human drama and comedy.

The project is directed by Yu Irie and written by Shigeki Kaneko. Teaser art released for the series has garnered significant attention on social media, particularly regarding Hirose’s portrayal of the high-profile idol.
