Netflix announces action-noir series ‘The Shooter’ starring Lee Jung-eun

Netflix has confirmed production of a new Korean action-noir series titled ‘The Shooter’ (working title ‘Halmae’). The series stars Lee Jung-eun and Kim Moo-yul, marking Lee’s first foray into the action genre.

Directed by Lee Kwon, known for ‘A Shop for Killers’, and written by Kim Hee-su, the story follows Jeong Suk-ja, a woman in her seventies who takes up arms to avenge her grandson following a mysterious attack. Her quest leads her into a conflict with the powerful Chunghwa Group.

The ensemble cast includes Huh Joon-ho as the chairman of Chunghwa Group, alongside Choi Sung-eun, Bae Na-ra, Seo Hyun-woo, and Moon Jong-won. The series is produced by Studio Dragon.
