Netflix will release the fourth season of the Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan anthology series, ‘Monster’, on September 17, 2026. This installment, titled ‘Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story’, marks the first time the series focuses on a female protagonist.

The season follows the historical case of Lizzie Borden, who was accused of the 1892 axe murders of her father, Andrew Borden, and her stepmother, Abby, in Fall River, Massachusetts. Although the crimes were brutal, Borden was acquitted during her trial. The eight-episode series aims to explore themes of female rage, repression, and the psychological dynamics within the Borden household, specifically the relationship between Lizzie and the family maid, Bridget Sullivan.

The cast features Ella Beatty in the lead role of Lizzie Borden, alongside Vicky Krieps, Charlie Hunnam, Rebecca Hall, Billie Lourd, Jessica Barden, and Sarah Paulson.
