Netflix announces ‘Love Is Blind’ Canadian edition

Netflix has announced that its popular reality dating franchise, ‘Love Is Blind’, is coming to Canada. Casting is officially open for the inaugural Canadian edition of the series.

The show features a social experiment where singles communicate through walls in isolated ‘pods’ to build emotional connections before meeting face-to-face and deciding whether to get engaged. The Canadian production will be handled by Toronto-based Insight Productions, the company behind ‘Big Brother Canada’ and ‘Canada Shore’. Insight co-chief content officer Erin Brock expressed excitement about working with a Canadian cast.

To apply, contestants must be at least 19 years old and hold Canadian citizenship or permanent residency as of January 1, 2027. The application process includes detailed questions regarding personal history and relationship views, and selected participants may undergo medical, psychological, and background checks. While the host for the Canadian version has not yet been announced, the franchise has already seen successful international adaptations in countries such as Japan, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and Mexico.
