Matthew Perry docuseries to premiere on Netflix this October
Netflix has released the trailer for ‘The One About Matthew Perry’, a three-part docuseries scheduled to premiere on October 27. The series explores the life, career, and personal struggles of the late ‘Friends’ star, who passed away in October 2023 at age 54.
Directed by Emmy winner Mary Robertson, the documentary features intimate testimonies from Perry’s family and close friends. His sister, Mia Perry Bowick, provides insight into his battle with addiction, revealing that he spent approximately $7 million in his efforts to achieve sobriety. The series aims to present a complete portrait of the actor beyond his iconic role as Chandler Bing, utilizing previously unreleased personal photos and video archives.
The production, handled by Maxine Productions, covers Perry’s rise to global superstardom and the complexities of his private life, including his struggles with substance abuse and his quest for stability. The release date falls just before the third anniversary of his death.
