Netflix Announces New Comedy ‘Women Like Us’ Starring Whoopi Goldberg and Cast

Netflix has unveiled its upcoming original comedy film *Women Like Us*, slated to begin production this fall in New York City. The movie brings together a high‑profile cast including Whoopi Goldberg, Jenifer Lewis, Vanessa Williams and Vivica A. Fox. It will be directed by Tasha Smith from an original script by Ali Kinney with additional writing by Tracy Oliver.

*Women Like Us* marks the first collaboration between the Obamas’ production banner Higher Ground and Charles D. King’s Macro Film Studios, both of which have a track record of Oscar‑nominated and award‑winning projects. The story follows a recently widowed woman whose friends drag her to the Hamptons for what should have been her 30th‑anniversary celebration, leading to a weekend of grief, friendship and self‑realization. Production will be overseen by producers James Lopez, Poppy Hanks, Anikah McLaren and Mark R. Wright, with Michelle Obama and Charles D. King serving as executive producers.
