Netflix announces release date for Josh Hartnett thriller ‘Below’

Netflix has announced the release date for the new six-part limited series ‘Below’, starring Josh Hartnett. The thriller is scheduled to premiere on October 8.

Set in a small Newfoundland town, the story follows Calvin Penney, a fisherman haunted by his father’s mysterious disappearance. The plot centers on a mysterious sea creature that begins terrorizing the community, prompting Calvin to team up with a visiting marine researcher, played by Mackenzie Davis, to protect his family and uncover the island’s secrets. The series also stars Charlie Heaton.

In addition to its streaming release, ‘Below’ is set to receive a preview screening during the Primetime program at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival.
