Netflix announces One Piece anime remake debuting February 2027
Netflix revealed its first teaser for a new anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival 2026. The series, produced by WIT Studio (known for Attack on Titan and Spy × Family), will retell the manga’s East Blue arc in a compact format.
The first season will consist of seven episodes, roughly 300 minutes in total, and will cover the first 50 manga chapters up to Luffy’s encounter with Sanji at Baratie. Episode 1, titled “Romance Dawn,” shows Luffy emerging from a barrel. Veteran voice actress Mayumi Tanaka will reprise her role as Monkey D. Luffy, and the project is directed by Masashi Koizuka.
All seven episodes will be released worldwide on Netflix in February 2027, offering a modern‑animation, filler‑free version of the series aimed at both long‑time fans and newcomers.
