Netflix biopic 'Mniej obcy' explores life of Lady Pank leader Jan Borysewicz

The Netflix film ‘Mniej obcy’ (Less Alien) has debuted, providing a biographical look at Jan Borysewicz, the leader of the iconic Polish rock band Lady Pank. The production, starring Mikołaj Bukrewicz as the young guitarist, traces Borysewicz’s musical journey and his struggle for artistic independence during the final years of the Polish People's Republic (PRL).

Beyond his musical career, the film and the autobiographical book from which it is derived highlight Borysewicz’s personal life and his empathetic approach to family matters. Specifically, the narrative touches upon his support for his transgender grandson, Aleks. Borysewicz has expressed his acceptance of his grandson’s gender identity, stating that if someone has a strong desire to align their gender, it is a natural need to avoid suffering in an identity that does not fit.
