Netflix censors violent WWE Raw segments in replays
Netflix has applied edits to recent WWE Raw replays to comply with international rating standards. In a recent segment involving the group 946, the streaming service used black screens to obscure a car door being slammed on Jacob Fatu and a moment where Jaida Parker ran him over with a vehicle. While the visual elements were censored, the audio from the segment remained audible.
This follows a pattern of content modification on the platform, which has previously blurred blood on performers such as Cody Rhodes and Bron Breakker, and edited out profanity or controversial clothing. Netflix Vice President Gabe Spitzer previously noted that while the platform does not coordinate content decisions with WWE, all programming must adhere to the service’s specific rating standards for various global markets.
