Netflix commissions interactive live dating series for 2027

Netflix has commissioned a new interactive live reality dating series titled ‘Netflix, Will You Marry Me?’, scheduled for a global release in 2027. The series is being ordered by Syeda Irtizaali, Netflix’s UK Director of Unscripted, and will be produced by Banijay UK-owned companies Workerbee and Initial.

The format features a single man, described as ‘Britain’s most eligible bachelor’, living in a custom-built mansion alongside a group of women. In a departure from traditional reality television, the show will grant global Netflix subscribers total control over the proceedings. Over the course of 12 live episodes spanning four weeks, viewers will vote on major decisions, individual dates, and contestant exits, ultimately deciding which woman the bachelor will propose to in a live televised finale.

This commission is part of Netflix’s broader strategic push into live event programming and unscripted content, following previous live ventures such as sports broadcasts and comedy specials.
