Netflix completes filming for second season of ‘Os Donos do Jogo’

Netflix has announced the completion of filming for the second season of the Brazilian crime drama series ‘Os Donos do Jogo’. While a specific release date has not yet been set, the streaming platform released a teaser video featuring actors Mel Maia and André Lamoglia to mark the conclusion of production.

The series, which explores the illegal gambling underworld known as ‘jogo do bicho’ in Rio de Janeiro, follows the protagonist Profeta as he navigates power struggles, corruption, and violence. The first season achieved significant success, reaching the top of Netflix’s ranking for most-watched non-English language series.

Directed by Heitor Dhalia, the production is noted for its high degree of realism, stemming from extensive research with police and specialists. The second season will see the return of several cast members, including André Lamoglia, Juliana Paes, and Mel Maia, alongside new additions such as Duda Matte and Elizabeth Savala.
