Netflix crime dramas achieve significant streaming success
Netflix has seen significant success with two of its crime drama series. The production ‘Dept. Q’, created by Scott Frank, has become a standout title on the platform. The series follows detective Carl Morck, played by Matthew Goode, a brilliant but hostile officer dealing with professional trauma. The show features a team of displaced characters, including Rose Dickson and Akram Salim, working out of a repurposed police station space. A second season has already been confirmed.
Additionally, the miniseries ‘The Great Illusion’, based on the work of Harlan Coben, has achieved massive viewership numbers. Since its release in early 2024, the series has accumulated approximately 98.2 million views and 629.8 million hours watched. The plot follows Maya Stern, portrayed by Michelle Keegan, an ex-special operations pilot investigating a mystery involving her husband, who was presumed dead. The series currently ranks as the 13th most-watched series in Netflix history.
