Netflix develops ‘Scope’ mystery thriller directed by Ray Mendoza

Netflix is developing a mystery action thriller titled ‘Scope’, directed by Ray Mendoza and produced by Jaume Collet-Serra. The project was preemptively acquired by Netflix through Collet-Serra’s Jadis Collective.

The story follows a battle-hardened special forces operator who returns home to recuperate from a traumatic injury, only to become entangled in an unexpected suburban mystery. The film is described as being in the vein of ‘Disturbia’ and ‘Rear Window’.

The screenplay originated as a spec by Charley Parlapanides, Vlas Parlapanides, and Scott Charnick. This development is part of an ongoing creative partnership between Collet-Serra and Netflix, following the success of the action-thriller ‘Carry-On’. No cast members, production start dates, or release dates have been confirmed.
