Mica Miller death: Netflix docuseries explores controversial case

Netflix has released a three-part true crime docuseries, ‘Death of the Pastor’s Wife’, detailing the death of Mica Miller. Found dead in North Carolina’s Lumber River State Park in April 2024, Mica’s death was officially ruled a suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. However, the circumstances remain a subject of intense scrutiny from her family and the public.

Mica was the wife of John-Paul Miller, a pastor at Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Before her death, Mica had filed for divorce and alleged years of emotional, sexual, spiritual, financial, and physical abuse. The documentary explores the complexities of their marriage and the allegations of control and manipulation.

John-Paul Miller faces federal charges, including cyberstalking and making false statements to federal investigators. The series also examines related controversies, such as the death of Chris Skinner, a church member whose widow, Suzie Skinner, later married John-Paul Miller.
