Netflix drama “The Scandal” releases teaser and posters

Netflix has released new posters and a teaser for the upcoming Korean drama “The Scandal,” an adaptation of the 1782 novel by French writer Pierre Choderlos de Laclos. Set during the Joseon era, the series follows a dangerous game of deception and desire involving three central characters.

Son Ye Jin stars as Lady Cho, a woman of exceptional intelligence living within the confines of the inner quarters. She initiates a risky wager with Cho Won, played by Ji Chang Wook, a prominent playboy of the era. The bet ensnares Hui Yeon, played by Nana, who becomes caught in the escalating deceit without initially understanding the stakes.

The promotional materials use traditional painting aesthetics to depict the characters, highlighting the tension of the scandal that threatens to disrupt the nobility in Bukchon. The series explores themes of challenging social taboos and the consequences of forbidden desires.
