Netflix Dutch thriller Petits meurtres entre voisins concludes first season

The Dutch mini-series ‘Petits meurtres entre voisins’ (international title ‘The Perfect Lie’), created by Dorien Goertzen and based on Saskia Noort’s novel ‘De Eetclub’, has concluded its first season on Netflix.

The first season follows Karen van der Made as she joins an exclusive dinner club in the seaside resort of Bergen. The plot centers on the death of a neighbor named Evert in a house fire. The season finale reveals that Evert’s wife, Babette, drugged Evert and their children before setting the house on fire in an attempt to keep the family united in death. Karen eventually discovers evidence of Babette’s manipulation via a hidden phone, leading to Babette’s arrest.

While the central mystery regarding Evert’s death is resolved, the season ends with unresolved questions concerning the character Hanneke and the identity of a mysterious hooded figure. Although the first season functions as a complete story, there is currently no official confirmation from Netflix regarding a second season, though speculation continues regarding the future of the characters.
