Netflix ends app support for older Android and iPhone models on Aug 3 2026

Netflix will stop supporting its native app on a large number of older mobile devices beginning on 3 August 2026. The cutoff affects Android phones released between 2011 and 2014 – such as Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, LG G2 and Sony Xperia models – as well as iPhone models that cannot run iOS 18, including iPhone X, 8, 7, 6s, 6s Plus and the first‑generation iPhone SE.

After that date the app can no longer be opened, updated or installed on the listed devices, removing access to Netflix’s streaming library and ending security and feature updates. The change also impacts older Apple TV generations and pre‑2015 smart TVs. Users of the affected devices are advised to upgrade to newer hardware to retain Netflix service and maintain overall device security.
