Netflix expands cast for ‘Women Like Us’ dramedy

Netflix has expanded the cast of the upcoming dramedy ‘Women Like Us’ with nine new performers as production begins. The new additions include Greg Tarzan Davis, Melanie Liburd, Harry Lennix, Joy Bryant, Danielle Pinnock, Dewayne Perkins, Samara Joy, Tiffany Boone, and Gail Bean.

These actors join the film’s established leads: Whoopi Goldberg, Jenifer Lewis, Vanessa Williams, and Vivica A. Fox. The story follows a recently widowed woman whose sister and lifelong friends take her to the Hamptons during what would have been her 30th wedding anniversary, exploring themes of grief, friendship, and family.

The project is a collaboration between Higher Ground, the Obamas’ production company, and Charles D. King’s Macro Film Studios. Tasha Smith is directing from a screenplay by Ali Kinney, with writing contributions from Tracy Oliver.
