Netflix film ‘La fiera’ depicts real-life BASE jumping tragedies

The film ‘La fiera’, directed by Salvador Calvo, is set to release on Netflix on August 14. The movie is inspired by the real-life history of a group of friends who became pioneers of BASE jumping with wingsuits in Spain.

The story follows Carlos Suárez, Darío Barrio, Álvaro Bultó, Manolo Chana, and Armando del Rey. While the group shared a passion for extreme sports, the history is marked by tragedy, as four of the five members lost their lives in separate BASE jumping accidents. Armando del Rey is the sole survivor of the group.

The film stars Carlos Cuevas, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, and Miguel Bernardeau, portraying the lives and friendships forged through their pursuit of extreme limits. The production itself was also impacted by tragedy, involving the death of Carlos Suárez during the filming process.
