Netflix greenlights ‘Jig’ mockumentary by ‘Derry Girls’ creator Lisa McGee
Netflix has announced several new projects at the Edinburgh TV Festival, headlined by a new mockumentary comedy titled ‘Jig’ from ‘Derry Girls’ creator Lisa McGee. The six-episode series is set in the competitive world of Irish dancing and will follow two best friends from a struggling dance school in Derry as they aim for the world championships.
Filming for ‘Jig’ is scheduled to begin next year in Northern Ireland. The announcement is part of a broader slate of upcoming content, which includes a five-episode ‘Top Boy’ prequel titled ‘Jonny Boy’ starring Barry Keoghan, and a six-part series based on Roald Dahl’s short stories featuring Nicola Coughlan.
