Netflix impersonation scams target users via SMS

Cybercriminals are increasingly using smishing—a combination of SMS and phishing—to target Netflix users. These fraudulent messages often claim that a user's account has been suspended or that a payment has failed, creating a sense of urgency to prompt immediate action.

The scams direct victims to a fraudulent website that closely mimics the official Netflix interface. Once users enter their login credentials and credit card details to ‘reactivate’ their subscription, the information is stolen by fraudsters for financial theft or resale. These campaigns are widespread, with millions of fraudulent messages being sent weekly in France.
