Netflix miniseries ‘The Doll’ remains a limited series with no season 2 planned

The Netflix miniseries ‘The Doll’ (Lalka), a six-part adaptation of Bolesław Prus’s classic Polish novel, follows the story of Stanisław Wokulski and his obsession with the aristocrat Izabela Łęcka in 19th-century Warsaw.

While the series has intrigued subscribers, there are currently no plans for a second season. Netflix officially classifies the production as a ‘limited series’ or ‘mini-series,’ and no renewal has been announced. Industry analysts suggest the likelihood of a continuation is very low, as the first season covers the primary arc of the original novel and concludes with the protagonists parting ways.

The series features Sandra Drzymalska as Izabela Łęcka, a character portrayed with a focus on her internal feelings and feminist perspectives, and Tomasz Schuchardt as the brooding protagonist Stanisław Wokulski.
