Netflix mystery series ‘The Beast in Me’ climbs streaming charts

Netflix's new mystery series, ‘The Beast in Me’, has quickly risen through the streaming platform's charts. Created by Gabe Rotter and showrunner Howard Gordon, the production features a high-profile cast including Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys, with Jodie Foster serving as a producer.

The series follows a failed writer who encounters a neighbor with an opaque past. While the lead actors have been noted for their intense performances, some critiques suggest the characterizations can feel exaggerated or caricatured, occasionally bordering on genre parody.
