Netflix postpones Gary Glitter documentary release

Netflix has postponed the release of its three-part documentary series, ‘Hunting Gary Glitter’, which was originally scheduled to debut on October 14. The streaming service stated the decision to pause the release follows “new legal information we recently became aware of,” though a spokesperson declined to provide further specific details at this time.

The docu-series was intended to chronicle the pursuit of the former pop star, whose real name is Paul Gadd, by journalists and survivors. It aimed to cover his 1997 conviction, his years as a fugitive, and his eventual incarceration.

Gadd is currently serving a 16-year sentence in the United Kingdom for historical sexual abuse. Recently, he pleaded not guilty to eight additional allegations of sexual abuse involving a girl between the ages of eight and 11. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5.
