Netflix releases Chinese period drama ‘A Noiva da Presilha Dourada’

Netflix has released the Chinese period drama ‘A Noiva da Presilha Dourada’, also known internationally as ‘Where the Mask Ends’. Starring Tian Xiwei and Yan An, the series is an adaptation of the romance ‘Jia Jin Chai’ by Xiao Jia Ren.

Set in imperial China, the plot follows A Chou, a woman from a humble background who shares a near-identical appearance with Wei Rao, an heiress from an influential family. To escape an arranged marriage, Wei Rao arranges for A Chou to take her place in a marriage to Lu Zhuo, a nobleman who is gravely ill. The story explores the complications that arise when Lu Zhuo awakens and begins to suspect his wife's true identity, alongside the threats posed by the real Wei Rao and the power struggles within the noble family.

The series premiered on October 16 with four simultaneous episodes. Following the initial release, Netflix has been releasing two episodes daily. While the schedule for the first 14 episodes is confirmed through October 21, the release dates for the remaining episodes (15 through 30) have not yet been announced.
