Netflix releases first look at ‘Sacrifice’ starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Evans

Netflix has released first-look images for the upcoming film ‘Sacrifice’, directed by Romain Gavras. The project, which premiered at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, is scheduled for release in the United States and France on October 16, 2026.

The film is described as an action-adventure comedy and psychological thriller. The plot follows a movie star, played by Chris Evans, who is attempting to rebuild his reputation. During a high-profile environmental charity gala hosted by entrepreneur Ben Bracken (Vincent Cassel) and his wife Gloria (Salma Hayek Pinault), the event is disrupted when a radical group led by a character named Joan (Anya Taylor-Joy) takes the attendees hostage to fulfill a volcanic prophecy.

The ensemble cast includes John Malkovich, Ambika Mod, Sam Richardson, Jade Croot, and Yung Lean. The film is rated R for bloody violence, language, and sexual references.
