Netflix releases first trailer for Greta Gerwig’s Narnia prequel

Netflix has released the first trailer for ‘The Magician’s Nephew’, a new adaptation of C. S. Lewis’s classic fantasy novel directed by Greta Gerwig. This production marks the beginning of a new era for ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ franchise.

Unlike previous adaptations, this film serves as a prequel, chronologically establishing the origins of Narnia. The story follows Digory Kirke (David McKenna) and Polly Plummer (Beatrice Campbell) as they explore different dimensions through a method developed by Digory’s uncle, Andrew Ketterley (Daniel Craig). Their journey leads to the creation of Narnia and the emergence of key figures like Aslan and the White Witch.

The cast features a mix of rising talent and established actors, including Daniel Craig, Emma Mackey, Carey Mulligan, and Ciarán Hinds. Meryl Streep will provide the voice for Aslan. The film is set to have an exclusive theatrical run in IMAX before arriving on the Netflix streaming platform.
