Netflix to Premiere 'Michael Jackson: The Verdict' Docuseries on June 3

Netflix announced a three‑part documentary series titled Michael Jackson: The Verdict, set to debut on June 3, 2026. The series revisits the pop star’s 2005 child‑molestation trial in California, a case that became a global media spectacle. Directed by Nick Green and produced by Candle True Stories, the docuseries features new interviews with jurors, eyewitnesses, attorneys, accusers, defenders and journalists who were present in the courtroom, aiming to provide a forensic, inside‑the‑court view of the proceedings that were otherwise shown only through media coverage.

Executive producers include Fiona Stourton, James Goldston and David Herman. The filmmakers say, “It has been 20 years since the trial of Michael Jackson in which he was found not guilty. Yet to this day controversy still rages.” The series will run about 50 minutes per episode and follows the hugely successful Michael biopic, which has earned over $700 million worldwide. Netflix frames the project as a chance to reconstruct the trial’s facts and the cultural impact it continues to have.
