Netflix releases new thriller films ‘The Whisperer’ and ‘God’s Unpredictable Ways’

Recent Netflix releases include the detective thriller ‘The Whisperer’ (Našeptávač) and the Spanish psychological thriller ‘God’s Unpredictable Ways’ (Nevyzpytatelné cesty Boží).

‘The Whisperer’, directed by James Ashcroft, stars Adam Scott, Robert De Niro, and Michelle Monaghan. The plot follows a father who moves back to his hometown with his son, only to be confronted by a series of child murders that mirror a case from decades ago. The story involves a former policeman, played by De Niro, who originally caught the previous killer.

‘God’s Unpredictable Ways’ is directed by Oriol Paulo and is an adaptation of Torcuata Lucy de Tena’s 1979 novel. The film follows private investigator Alice Gould, played by Bárbara Lennie, who feigns mental illness to enter a psychiatric institution to investigate a client's son's death. The narrative utilizes a non-linear structure and an unreliable narrator to explore the mysteries within the facility.
