Netflix releases Swedish crime series Blood Sacrifice

The new Swedish crime series ‘Blood Sacrifice’ (Blodsoffer) has arrived on Netflix. Created by George Kay, known for ‘Lupin’, the five-part series is a Nordic noir thriller set in Stockholm.

The plot begins with a mysterious emergency call from a woman claiming to be under attack in her vacation home. When police officers respond to the scene, they are brutally murdered, sparking a cat-and-mouse game between a serial killer and the authorities. The investigation suggests the killer may be specifically targeting police officers.

Central to the story is the strained relationship between Chief Inspector Thomas Berg and his father, Alfred, a former detective struggling with alcoholism. Despite their difficult history, the two are forced to work together to solve the murders, while complex family dynamics involving Thomas’s wife, a psychologist, add further tension to the investigation.
