Netflix releases teaser for Lizzie Borden installment of Monster series

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for the fourth installment of the ‘Monster’ crime anthology series, titled ‘Monster: The Story of Lizzie Borden’. The production, created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, focuses on the historical figure accused of the 1892 axe murders of her parents in New England.

Ella Purnell stars as Lizzie Borden, portraying a complex character navigating themes of female rage and societal repression. The series features an ensemble cast including Vicky Krieps, Rebecca Hall, Billie Lourd, and Sarah Paulson.

Creator Ryan Murphy noted that the choice of this case stems from a desire to explore whether monsters are born or created, while also examining the modern relevance of the story regarding women and society. The season is expected to release later this year.
