Netflix releases teaser for steampunk western animation ‘Bass X Machina’

Netflix has released a teaser for its upcoming animated series, ‘Bass X Machina’, set in a lawless steampunk frontier. The series stars Brian Tyree Henry as Bass, a reluctant lawman navigating a world of mechanical machinery and supernatural threats.

The story is loosely inspired by the legend of Bass Reeves, a historical Black U.S. Deputy Marshal from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The animation is being produced by South Korean-based Studio Mir, known for works such as ‘X-Men ’97’.

The series is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on November 3, 2026. The voice cast includes Janelle Monáe, Tati Gabrielle, Cree Summer, Chaske Spencer, Currie Graham, and Starletta DuPois.
