Moria Casán biopic to debut on Netflix on August 14

Netflix will launch the eight‑episode biographical series "Moria" on 14 August 2026, timed with Argentine diva Moria Casán’s 80th birthday. Produced in Argentina by About Entertainment and directed by Javier Van de Couter, the series dramatizes Casán’s five‑decade career in film, theatre, television and popular culture. Three actresses portray her at different life stages: her daughter Sofía Gala Castiglione as the young Moria, Griselda Siciliani for the mature, high‑profile years, and Cecilia Roth for the later, reflective period. The production combines factual episodes with fictionalized narration, with Casán herself acting as a “titiritera” of her own story. Netflix announced a worldwide release in more than 100 countries, emphasizing the series as a cultural homage. Casán reacted to the trailer, saying “Estoy globalizada” and noting the rarity of seeing one’s life depicted while still alive.
