Netflix releases trailer for Brazilian legal drama Habeas Corpus

Netflix has released the first trailer for ‘Habeas Corpus’, a new Brazilian legal drama series scheduled to premiere on September 23, 2026. The production is inspired by the real-world work of the Innocence Project Brasil.

The series stars Marjorie Estiano as Inez, a former criminal lawyer turned law professor who leads a study group dedicated to investigating potential wrongful convictions. Any Gabrielly portrays Marina, one of Inez’s students whose personal involvement in the quest for justice is driven by secret motivations linked to her own past.

Directed by Luiz Villaça and written by Leonardo Moreira, the eight-episode series explores flaws within the judicial system and the ethical complexities of seeking legal reparation. The cast also includes Vladimir Brichta, Danton Mello, Natália Lage, Naruna Costa, and Marisa Orth.
