Netflix releases trailer for Bollywood-fusion dance comedy ‘Best of the Best’

Netflix has released the trailer and key art for its upcoming Bollywood-fusion dance comedy, ‘Best of the Best’, scheduled to premiere worldwide on September 18.

Directed by Lena Khan, the film stars Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Priyanka Kedia as childhood best friends Maya and Anjali. The story follows the duo as they join a highly competitive Bollywood-fusion dance team at UCLA, aiming for the U.S. Championship. As they navigate the collegiate dance scene, they discover the path to victory is far more cutthroat and intense than anticipated, testing their friendship against the pressures of competition.

The screenplay was written by Hasan Minhaj and Prashanth Venkataramanujam, both of whom also serve as producers. The ensemble cast includes Minhaj, Janina Gavankar, Lilly Singh, and Nihar Duvvuri. The film is positioned as a coming-of-age comedy that centers on cultural identity and the high stakes of competitive dance.
