Netflix releases trailer for Joseon-era drama ‘The Scandal’

Netflix has released the first trailer for its new Korean period drama, ‘The Scandal’. Set during the Joseon Dynasty, the series is an adaptation of the famous French novel ‘Les Liaisons Dangereuses’ and the 2003 film ‘Untold Scandal’.

The plot follows Lady Cho (Son Ye-jin), a noblewoman who orchestrates a manipulative game of love and betrayal. She enlists the help of Jo Won (Ji Chang-wook), a well-known playboy, to target An Hui Yeon (Nana), a young widow known for her strict adherence to honor and virtue. The trailer depicts the escalating emotional conflicts as a high-stakes wager begins to evolve into genuine feelings.

Actress Nana, who rose to prominence as a member of the K-pop group After School, stars in the series alongside Son Ye-jin and Ji Chang-wook.
