Netflix Sets February 2027 Release for Anime Remake “The One Piece”
Netflix will launch a new anime adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga One Piece in February 2027. Produced by Japan’s WIT Studio, the series will retell the East Blue saga – the first 50 manga chapters – across seven episodes totaling about 300 minutes, with all episodes released worldwide simultaneously on the streaming platform. The first trailer, unveiled by Netflix, showcases modernized animation of iconic moments such as Gold D. Roger’s final words, Shanks gifting Luffy his straw hat, and Luffy’s early battles, while confirming that veteran voice actress Mayumi Tanaka will reprise her role as Monkey D. Luffy. Reactions from fans across France, Spain, Germany, Greece and other regions note both excitement and concern over visual style and pacing, but the project is positioned as an effort to offer a condensed, high‑quality entry point for new viewers and longtime fans alike.
