Netflix releases trailer for Peter Berg’s WWII drama The Mosquito Bowl

Netflix has released a full trailer for The Mosquito Bowl, a World War II action drama directed by Peter Berg. Based on Buzz Bissinger’s book, the film tells the true story of elite college football stars who enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps following the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The narrative follows four athletes—played by Nicholas Galitzine, Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson, and Tom Francis—as they transition from sporting glory to the brutal battlefields of the Pacific. The story highlights the experiences of players from institutions such as Wisconsin, Brown, and Notre Dame as they prepare for the invasion of Okinawa.

Director Peter Berg, known for Lone Survivor and Friday Night Lights, described the film as a study of young men who were sports heroes at home and became war heroes in combat. The production emphasizes immersive practical environments to depict the realities of war.

The film is scheduled for a limited theatrical release on October 30, 2026, followed by its streaming debut on Netflix on November 25, 2026.
