Netflix releases trailer for Ransom Canyon season 2, debut July 23

Netflix has released the official trailer for season 2 of the Western romance drama *Ransom Canyon*, which will premiere on the streaming platform on July 23. The series, based on Jodi Thomas’s novels and set in the Texas Hill Country, returns with leads Staten Kirkland (Josh Duhamel) and Quinn O’Grady (Minka Kelly). The preview shows the duo confronting lingering feelings, introduces a new potential love interest for Quinn named Oliver, and highlights shifting relationships among other characters such as Yancy, Ellie, Lauren, and Lucas.

Creator April Blair says the upcoming season will focus more on love and the question of where people belong, describing it as “sexier and more dramatic.” The trailer features a line from Patricia Clarkson’s character Claire O’Grady: “Love is a canyon, it feels impossible to cross, but once you make it to the other side, it’s damn near breathtaking.” The new season also adds cast members Steve Howey, Heidi, and others, promising fresh drama for the small Texas town.

The series first aired in April 2025 and quickly became popular on Netflix, prompting a renewal for the second season.
