Netflix renews ‘The Beast in Me’ for second season
Netflix has officially renewed the psychological thriller ‘The Beast in Me’ for a second season. Originally conceived as a limited series, the show’s decision to continue follows significant global success, including reaching the top of Netflix’s Global Top 10 and accumulating tens of millions of views.
Claire Danes will return to her Emmy-nominated role as Aggie Wiggs and will also serve as an executive producer. Showrunner Howard Gordon is returning to co-run the series alongside Daniel Pearle. As part of the announcement, Netflix has also established a creative partnership with Gordon, who will develop new series exclusively for the platform through his Teakwood Lane Productions banner.
While the first season featured Matthew Rhys as Nile Jarvis, reports indicate he will not return for the second season following the character's death in the first installment. The renewal shifts the series from a limited production into a standard drama category, potentially increasing its competition in future award cycles.
