Netflix renews teen drama series Crew Girl for season 2

Netflix has announced the renewal of the teen drama series ‘Crew Girl’ for a second season. The series follows Teagan Tao, a rowing champion whose life changes after her father is arrested for embezzlement, forcing her and her mother to move to the fictional town of Eagle’s Cove.

While the renewal was confirmed quickly following the first season's release, an official premiere date for season two has not yet been set. Most lead actors, including Miku Martineau, Jessica Paré, Sam Braun, and Kyle Clark, are expected to return.

Critical reception has been mixed. While some analysis suggests the show illustrates new genre codes where sports serve as a catalyst for tension and desire, ‘Variety’ criticized the series for lacking depth, describing the plot as ‘artificial and little credible’ and noting an accumulation of genre clichés.
