Netflix renews thriller series ‘The Beast in Me’ for season 2

Netflix has confirmed a second season of the thriller series ‘The Beast in Me’, starring Claire Danes and Matthew Rhys. Originally conceived as a limited series, the decision to extend the story follows the first season’s significant global success, which reached number one in platform rankings and was viewed in 88 countries, accumulating 43 million views in its first seven weeks.

The series has also received critical acclaim, earning 21 Emmy nominations. Matthew Rhys won an Emmy for his performance, and the show received awards for musical composition.

Showrunner Howard Gordon, known for ‘Homeland’, will return to lead the production alongside Daniel Pearle. The renewal also marks a new exclusive creative partnership between Gordon and Netflix. While the cast and production team are returning, Netflix has not yet released specific plot details or a premiere date for the new season.
