Netflix reveals details for Greta Gerwig’s Narnia prequel

Netflix is preparing a new adaptation of C. S. Lewis’s 1955 novel, ‘The Magician’s Nephew’, directed by and co-written by Greta Gerwig. The film serves as a prequel to the events of ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’, depicting the creation of the magical world of Narnia.

The story follows two children, Digory and Polly, played by David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell, as they travel between worlds and witness the arrival of the lion Aslan. The plot also introduces Jadis, the character who will later become the White Witch, portrayed by Emma Mackey.

The cast includes Daniel Craig as Uncle Andrew, Meryl Streep providing the voice for Aslan, and other actors such as Carey Mulligan and Denise Gough. Recent promotional imagery featuring Daniel Craig has drawn comparisons from fans to his character in the ‘Knives Out’ franchise, though no narrative connection exists between the two.
