Netflix selects Kris Bowers to score animated film ‘Steps’

Emmy-nominated composer Kris Bowers has been selected to score the upcoming Netflix animated comedy “Steps.” The film, which is scheduled for release on November 20, marks the first fully in-house animated feature produced by Netflix Animation Studios.

Bowers recorded the score during July and August at Abbey Road Studios in London. The film is directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa and offers a reimagined take on the Cinderella story. The plot follows Lilith, voiced by Ali Wong, a character accused of disrupting a royal ball who must team up with Cinderella (voiced by Amanda Seyfried) to save the kingdom.

The ensemble cast includes Stephanie Hsu, Bette Midler, Daniel Radcliffe, Young Mazino, and Peter Dinklage.
