Netflix series 1670 drives high social media engagement in Poland

The third season of the Netflix satirical comedy ‘1670’ has generated significant social media engagement in Poland, according to an analysis by the Institute for Media Monitoring (IMM). The production garnered approximately 367,000 interactions within three days of its release. While it remains a top performer, accounting for roughly 41 percent of engagement among analyzed premieres, the volume of online activity was nearly half of what was seen during the previous season. Experts attribute this to a ‘habituation effect’ and the summer release schedule.

Another notable production, ‘Ołowiane dzieci’, emerged as a major driver of discussion, recording 12,100 comments.

In addition to its digital popularity, the series has highlighted local landmarks. Scenes from the new season were filmed at the Piast Castle in Brzeg, often referred to as the ‘Silesian Wawel’. The Renaissance site, which houses the Museum of Silesian Piasts, serves as a backdrop representing royal Warsaw within the show’s narrative.
