Netflix series about Moria Casán highlights director and cast

The Netflix series reconstructing the life of Argentine icon Moria Casán is drawing attention through its cast and direction. Directed by Javier Van de Couter, the production explores various stages of Casán’s life, described by some as a form of ‘magical realism’ rather than a traditional biography.

Actor Alejandro Guerscovich, who plays a stage manager in the first episode, shared his experience transitioning from theater to a major Netflix superproduction. Guerscovich, who was cast after a director recognized his theatrical work, noted the professional connection with actress Sofía Gala, who portrays a young Moria Casán.

Director Javier Van de Couter, originally from the Comarca region, discussed his journey from writing plays in his youth to leading this major audiovisual project. His career path included formal training at the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Buenos Aires.
