Netflix series Crew Girl climbs global charts

The Netflix teen drama ‘Crew Girl’ has seen a rapid rise in popularity following its release on September 10, 2026, reaching the second position on global series charts within a day. The series follows 16-year-old Teagan Tao, played by Miku Martineau, as she navigates life at Easton Prep and attempts to establish a female rowing team.

Despite the show's commercial success, Netflix has not yet officially renewed the series for a second season. Decisions regarding renewal typically depend on viewership data and subscriber engagement over the initial weeks of release. Showrunner Vivian Lin and executive producer Jeff Norton have indicated that while no concrete plans are in place, the narrative structure allows for a continuation if the audience response is strong.

Production for the first season took place in Victoria, British Columbia, during the autumn of 2025. Cast members reported challenging filming conditions, including fog and freezing temperatures, which required the use of hidden heating pads and blankets to maintain authenticity during rowing scenes.
