Netflix series Crew Girl highlights filming locations in Victoria

The new Netflix series ‘Crew Girl’ has premiered, featuring filming locations across southern Vancouver Island. Showrunner and co-creator Vivian Lin noted the importance of casting an Asian American protagonist, selecting Miku Martineau for the lead role of Teagan.

Production utilized several sites in the Greater Victoria area, including Elk Lake, the Gorge Waterway, and Seahorses Café in Brentwood Bay. The cast and Netflix have highlighted local landmarks and businesses in social media promotions, including the Victoria Bug Zoo, IMAX Victoria, and the Victoria Rowing Club. Olympic gold-winning rowing coxswain Terry Paul also participated by helping to train the cast.
